Frankie McMillan is a short story writer. and poet. She completed an MA in Creative Writing at the International Institute of Modern Letters, and received the Creative NZ Todd Writers' Bursary in 2005. Her first book of short fiction, The Bag Lady’s Picnic and Other Stories, was published in 2001, for which she was lauded 'a strong new voice on the New Zealand literary scene.' (Penelope Bieder, Weekend Herald) In 2009 she published Dressing for the Cannibals, a collection of her poetry. McMillan teaches creative writing in Christchurch.
